We got sticks!!! Pink Pretty STICKS!

We were quite surprised to see our house has been framed! Ken, our realtor, had told us the slab was done on Tuesday. So we were expecting just to see it. To actually have sticks on the slab was a real treat!

Here's another view from the front that shows off the dormers atop the garage a bit better.

And here's the view from the side.

And the back of the house. Note the 3 big window frames and covered porch from where we'll have great views of the trees.

Look closely and you can see Mom standing in her bedroom to the left of the 3 big picture windows.

Gina also met the new puppy who lives next door.

He's such a cutie, but look at the size of those paws! He'll be a monster by the time we move in! I just hope that Rick trains him well. I'd hate to have Porch Boy attacked again!

I did a ritual that Gina and I started when our current house was being built.

Then Mom joined in the ritual, placing one near the front door entrance.

In no time at all we'll have walls and floors. So exciting!!!!

That is a BIG house! Why are only some of the 2x4's pink? Mom looks cute in her little window!

This is so exciting!

Yep, it's a very big house. 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, plus a guest toilet near the entry. Total square footage is 2766. Our bedrooms upstairs are 15x10 each. The media room and exercise room are 13x12 each and the gameroom (which we plan to use as a shared office)is 18x13. Downstairs, the master bedroom is 15x14 and her walk-in closet is 10x10! Dining room is 14x12 and family room is 18x16.

The pink wood is treated and protects the lumber against fire, mold, fungus and rot. There's a certain percentage that has to be treated to meet the building codes. I note that the new houses being built in our current neighborhood doesn't have nearly as much pink - so I think our new house is going beyond what the code requires.

I agree - VERY EXCITING! Can't wait for y'all to come see it!!!

Sorry about my grammar. Should have been "...in our current neighborhood don't have nearly as much pink..."

The guy that sold us the house is moving to a new subdivision closer to his home and they had a going away party for him today at the model home. We dropped by and met some of our soon-to-be neighbors. Very nice folks.
